Cancellations/Refunds
Box office staff will contact all ticketholders and season pass holders over the coming weeks to discuss options including a full refund, credit, or donating the cost of the ticket back to La Boite to help the company nurture emerging artists and support the creation of world-class theatre. #What public health advice should I follow?
As advised by Queensland Government:
- Wash hands often and properly with soap and water, or use alcohol-based rub.
- Practice social distancing, which means:
- Stay home as much as possible.
- Keep 1.5 metres away from others as much as possible.
- Avoid shaking hands, kissing or hugging others.
- If you can, work from home.
- Limit outdoor gatherings to two people, unless you live in the same household.
- The number of people in a household is limited to the usual occupants, plus two visitors who are family or close friends.
- All Australians must stay home unless leaving for essential reasons, such as:
- Shopping for essentials - food and necessary supplies;
- Medical or health care needs, including compassionate requirements;
- Exercise in compliance with the public gathering requirements;
- Work and study if you can’t work or learn remotely.

Is It Safe to Visit La Boite?
Yes it is! La Boite operates in accordance with Stage Queensland’s COVID Safe Industry Plan for Live Performance Venues/Theatres, to ensure the Roundhouse Theatre is a safe venue for our patrons, artists and staff to attend.
La Boite is responding to all new Federal and State Government guidelines.

What Health Measures Has La Boite Put in Place to Be Covid Safe?
When you visit La Boite and the Roundhouse Theatre, you will notice some changes. These changes are here to make you and other patrons feel safe and comfortable. This includes:
- Allocated seating in the Roundhouse Theatre;
- Sanitation of Roundhouse Theatre seats, post-show, with TGA approved sanitiser;
- Increased sanitation and cleaning to the venue;
- Hand sanitizer available on-site;
- Contactless payment ONLY;
- Pre-show check-in required for contact-tracing purposes;
- Increased signage to direct patron movement, avoid crowd congestion, and ensure social distancing;
- Increased La Boite staff presence to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed.
Do I Need to Provide My Contact Details to Attend an Event?
Yes, you do! Your name, phone number and email address (home address if email is unavailable) is required for contact-tracing purposes.
What Will La Boite Do With My Contact Details?
La Boite will store your contact details for 56 days, and will provide your information to Queensland Health if it is requested. La Boite will NOT give this information to any third parties (except for Queensland Health Officials), and your information will NOT be used for marketing purposes.
I Do Not Want to Provide My Contact Details to La Boite. Can I Still Visit the Theatre?
Your contact details are required by Queensland Law, therefore you cannot enter the theatre without providing your details.
La Boite reserves the right to refuse service and entry to any patron who does not provide adequate contact information.
What Should I Do if I Feel Unwell Before Attending a Performance?
Stay home if you are unwell.
If you are experiencing ANY of the symptoms of COVID-19 - including cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath - you MUST stay home.
If you are unwell, La Boite strongly urges you to get tested for COVID-19.
If I’M Sick, Can I Get a Refund?
For a La Boite show, yes. If you are experience any of the symptoms of COVID-19 and cannot attend, you are entitled to a full refund. Alternatively, if you would like to attend once you are well, La Boite can transfer you into another performance with no exchange fees.
For external hirers of the venues, it will be at the Promoter's descretion. Please contact the La Boite ticketing team to discuss your options.

Can I Sit With My Friends at the Theatre?
Seating configurations may vary depending on the production, therefore we cannot provide any guarantees. To ensure you are sitting with your friends, make sure you purchase your tickets together (i.e. in the same booking).
My Friend Already Has a Booking but I Don’T, Can I Still Sit With Them?
La Boite's Roundhouse Theatre has allocated seating in line with our COVID Safe Plan. This means patrons will select their own seats on check-out, therefore we cannot ensure you will be sitting with your friends. To maximise your chances of sitting together, we recommend booking together.
What Can I Do to Be Safe During My Visit to the Theatre?
To stay safe at the theatre, remember to:
- Stay home if you are sick;
- Practice social distancing (1.5 metres) between you/your social group and other people in the foyer, courtyard and bar;
- Practice good hygiene by washing or sanitising your hands regularly;
- Follow all staff instructions and signage within the theatre;
- Download and run the Commonwealth Government’s official COVID Safe app.
From 4pm on Tuesday 17 November 2020, Live Performance Venues are permitted to reach 100% capacity in their theatres. This means that there will be patrons occupying the seats directly next to, behind and in front of you during the performance (ie, social distancing will not be possible). It is strongly recomended by Queensland Health that patrons wear a facemask in situations where social distancing can not be maintained and upon entry and exit of the theatre.
Will Bathrooms Be Open to the Public?
Yes, La Boite’s regular bathroom facilities will be open as usual. We have increased our cleaning procedures in accordance with our COVID Safe Plan.
Will the Bar Be Open Pre/Post Show?
Yes, the La Boite Espresso Bar will be open weekday mornings and at least 1 hour before an event. We have increased our bar and café cleaning procedures, in accordance with our COVID Safe Plan. Please follow all signage and social distancing guidelines at the La Boite Espresso Bar.
What Is La Boite Doing to Remain Accessible to Patrons With a Disability?
La Boite’s existing access guidelines remain in place. If you have any access requirements, please email info@laboite.com.au or call (07) 3007 8600.
What time will the venue open?
The La Boite Espresso Bar and Foyer will be open at least 1-hour before the show. Please find further information, including the onsite menu, HERE.
Do I have to stay in my allocated seat?
Yes. Due to increased capacity and contact tracing requirements, you MUST remain in your allocated seat, which is located on your ticket. If you need help finding your seat, please chat to our friendly Box Office staff before the performance.
Can I leave my seat during the show?
You can leave your seat during the show, but please be mindful of those around you while you are out of your seat. If you re-enter the theatre after leaving, you must sit in your allocated seat.

When can I leave my seat at the end of a show?
At the end of the show, please wait in your seat. Our friendly front of house team will let you know when it is safe to leave and guide you out of the theatre.

What's the Exit and Entrance Policy / Procedure at La Boite?
La Boite is managing entry and exit points into the venue to control the flow of patrons. Please follow all venue signage and instructions from La Boite’s staff.
It is strongly recomended by Queensland Health that patrons wear a facemask in situations where social distancing can not be maintained and upon entry and exit of the theatre.
What's the Food and Beverage Policy? Can Patrons Eat / Drink in the Theatre?
Patrons are welcome to bring drinks into the theatre, provided that all glasses are stemless.
The consumption of food is NOT allowed inside the Roundhouse Theatre.
What Happens if We Need to Exit the Theatre Urgently / for a Personal Matter?
You can leave your seat during the show, but please be mindful of the people around you. La Boite’s front of house staff are more than happy to help with any requests once you’ve left the theatre.

Do We Have to Socially Distance if There’s an Emergency Evacuation?
In the event of an emergency, patrons are only required to socially distance where possible. Please follow all instructions given to you by La Boite staff, security, and/or emergency services.
